Rattlesnakes Are Preventable
A Western Diamondback Rattlesnake from a home in McDowell Mountain Ranch. The homeowner first saw the black and white bands of the tail going into a bush. With a large gap behind the wall, the only access possible were the un-sealed gate and uncovered drains in the block wall. With the help of some water, Jeff was able to get the snake to reveal itself and he could safely capture it. It was relocated to a packrat midden at the base of a tree.
Notably, a snake encounter like this one can be easily prevented by having the gates and drains sealed with Rattlesnake Fencing.
